The strain known as Special Queen #1 is a result of breeding Power Bud and Skunk during the 1990s. At the time, there was a rush among seed breeders and sellers to discover the perfect skunk. As a result, many growers attempted to replicate the Mexican, Colombian, Afghan hybrid, leading to a wide variety of new skunk strains. The genetic characteristics of these cannabis plants would go on to serve as the basis for nearly all marijuana plants in Europe.

At Royal Queen Seeds, we aimed to offer a classic Skunk hybrid at an affordable price by crossing Skunk with Power Bud. This strain is ideal for beginner growers who are not looking to invest a significant amount of resources into their experiments. The Special Queen is a traditional skunk that is easy to grow, has minimal stretching, and can be harvested in just 8-9 weeks.

The plant can reach a height of 1.5 m when grown indoors, so it will require a bit more space. When grown outdoors, Special Queen #1  can grow up to 3 m tall. It thrives in plenty of sunlight but can also tolerate the cooler climates of Northern Europe, such as the Netherlands or Great Britain. This sativa-dominant strain produces buds all over the plant, resulting in a generous yield in just 8-9 weeks. When grown indoors, Special Queen feminized can produce about 500g per square meter under a 600W light. Outdoors, it can yield over 550g per plant, but it will need proper nutrition and watering without overdoing it.

Special Queen #1 is relatively low maintenance and easy to grow, making it a great option for commercial crops. Special Queen #1 works well in both hydro and soil setups and is suitable for the sea/screen of green techniques. We recommend a flowering period of 8-9 weeks for this strain, although some growers have reported harvesting as early as week 7.

When smoked, Special Queen #1  feminized provides a classic skunk high that is mostly cerebral and uplifting. It is known to relax even the most anxious smokers.
